Risk and Natural Perils Data

When it comes to understanding the level of natural hazard risk a property is exposed to, access to accurate, up-to-date data is vital.

Thanks to our partnerships with Risk Frontiers (GeoRisk) and the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA), MapData Services has access to the most current, comprehensive and quantitative risk data portfolio available in Australia and New Zealand.

The Risk Frontiers' natural hazards risk database provides risk ratings for individual Australian properties as they pertain to five natural perils:

  • Bushfire
  • Earthquake
  • Hailstorm
  • Tropical cyclone
  • Riverine flood

Meanwhile, Risk Frontiers' Flood Exclusion Zone (FEZ) data set identifies Australian addresses situated within the barriers of a flood plain.

If you are a member of the ICA, MapData Services can also provide access to the National Flood Information Database (NFID), which enables insurers to accurately assess flood risk.

MapData Services’ risk data and natural hazards data takes the guesswork out of risk profiling and mitigation, providing insurers, home owners and potential home buyers with the ability to accurately determine risk – at the property level.
