Insurance Council of Australia (ICA)

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) is the nation’s representative body for the general insurance industry.

The ICA has worked with the various state governments to increase the availability of flood insurance products by collaboratively developing the multi-million dollar National Flood Information Database (NFID).  A unique offering to the insurance industry, this comprehensive database allows insurers to accurately assess flood risk and set premiums at an address level.

Through MapData Services, ICA members can access a hosted service for the NFID.
